It is our privilege to serve God and His people in Toronto and across the globe, but we understand that we can’t do it alone without the support of our prayer partners and financial supporters. Below, we outline some of our current financial needs. As you go through them, we kindly ask for your prayerful consideration in partnering with us, both in prayer and financially, to fulfill these needs.
Nehemiah's PROJECT
The Multi-Ethnic Mission Hall Building Construction
The YWAM Toronto Base, emphasizing multi-ethnic missions, aims to strengthen its position as a spring-board for ongoing global missions by establishing the Mission Hall within the Greater Toronto Area, a strategically located missionary hub.
The construction of the Multi-Ethnic Mission Hall was initiated with the word "prepare a place" in John 14:1-3, given in June 1999. It began with a profound desire of creating a dwelling place full of God's presence as many missionaries come and need a place of restoration, healing and spiritual revitalization. Driven by faith, the construction has been underway since 2008. Each donation and volunteer contribution has propelled us forward, even through challenging and gradual progress, showcasing remarkable advancements as now we approach 65% completion. Yet, our ultimate aspiration is for God's glory to shine through the fulfillment of this endeavor of love, in alignment with His heartfelt desire . We invite you to join us in this journey of faith and mission, bringing this project in your prayers and raising the final CAD $200,000 needed to complete the building, enabling us to fully actualize our vision and impact even more lives for the glory of God. |
Main Building Restoration
Our old main building encountered a significant setback when a malfunctioning thermostat caused the boiler plumbing and radiators in each room to freeze and burst during the 2020-2021 winter season. Consequently, the building's heating, toilets, and water supply became unusable, rendering us unable to carry out our in-person school programs and activities.
In May 2024, we made the decision to allocate a portion of the funds received for the Nehemiah's Project to address these critical needs as we frevently pray to reopen our DTS school this coming March 2025. Restoration work began with the removal of old ceilings and covering walls in the main function room to access the damaged plumbing behind them. Progress was gradual, but we successfully installed new plumbing and radiators throughout the building, including the dormitory rooms. In the main function room, we constructed new wall frames, added proper insulation, installed drywall, painted, added new lighting fixtures and laid fresh carpeting, transforming the space with a completely renewed and vibrant look. The dormitory rooms and washrooms also received much-needed updates, including a fresh coat of paint and the replacement of all outdated toilets. Additionally, a new high-capacity boiler was installed to replace the failed system, ensuring reliable heating throughout the building. By the end of 2024, these essential renovations were completed, enabling the building to once again fully support school programs and activities. |
However, significant restoration work remains, including repairing the building’s exterior and improving insulation in the dormitory rooms on the first floor. These projects are vital to ensuring the building’s long-term functionality, comfort, and energy efficiency.
