What is Youth With A Mission?

Youth With A Mission is a global movement of Christians from many cultures, age groups and Christian denominations, dedicated to serving Jesus throughout the world.

We have a common passion and purpose to know God and make Him known. YWAM draws people from a variety of backgrounds and nationalities to work together in a broad spectrum of evangelistic activities. People of all ages from more than 160 nations are involved in our ministries.

Each year, over 38,000 people are involved in YWAM’s short-term projects. Mobile ministries have gone into every country of the world. We currently operate in more than 1000 locations in over 180 countries, with a full-time staff of 18,000.

YWAM’s many ministries fall into three main categories, ways which we believe God has given us to be a part of the goal of taking the gospel to all the world:

EVANGELISM
We use music, performing arts, sports, and Bible distribution to connect with people of all ages.

TRAINING
Through our training programs and YWAM’s University of the Nations, we aim to equip Christians to grow in their relationship with God and to serve others. Our courses focus on subjects like healthcare, the Bible, business development and biblical counseling.

MERCY MINISTRIES
YWAM’s mercy ministry teams follow Jesus’ example of compassion to those in need. We operate relief and development programs in over 100 countries, working among people living in desperate circumstances and showing God's love through practical assistance.

In all of our ministries, we desire to see God’s transformation in every sphere of society.
When Jesus talked about the kingdom of God, He described an upside-down world, a transformed world. What would a world like that look like today?

In YWAM, we talk about seven dimensions of societal transformation.
We call these spheres. Our many ministries influence the spheres in a variety of ways.
The spheres are:

FAMILY
RELIGION
EDUCATION
ECONOMICS (science, technology and business)
MEDIA
CELEBRATION (arts, entertainment and sports)
GOVERNMENT.

Since 1987, YWAM Toronto has been wholeheartedly committed to training and preparing individuals, both in Toronto and across the nations, through education, relief efforts, evangelism, and missions.

Our ultimate aim is to mobilize dedicated Christians who called to missions, equipping them through training, evangelism, and mercy ministries; ultimately impacting lives in Toronto and across the nations.
